The Government has published its expected Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill.
We are looking at it in detail and will be commenting as necessary.
NAIRO Trustee Sean Hayes has reviewed the Bill and noted that it does not include mention of the IRO service.
We see this as a positive sign that the government is not seeking to amend the previous government’s decision to reject the IRCSC’s recommendation to abolish the role. But we will continue to monitor it.
