Our overriding aim is to improve outcomes for looked after children and young people in England and Wales. To achieve this aim we are committed to working with other organisations such as Article 39, CAFCASS, NIROMP, ADCS and other relevant organisations to influence the legal, policy and practice framework to benefit children and young people in care and care leavers. NAIRO works to strengthen the understanding of the IRO role amongst children and young people, and children and family services across the statutory and voluntary sectors.

Becoming a member of NAIRO enables you to become part of a community of IRO practitioners which offers support, encouragement and advice. This is through :

  • Membership of the Google group.
  • Participation in the IRO annual conference at a reduced cost.
  • Reduced cost of learning and development events
  • The opportunity to influence law policy and practice and to participate in NAIRO campaigns.
