The course will take place in Birmingham. The venue has not yet been decided but will be communicated as soon as it is settled.
This course will cover all aspects of the role of the IRO. It will include
- The background and rationale for the role of the IRO
- The existing legal framework for the work of the IRO
- The review process – preparing for and conducting the review, and follow up tasks
- Dilemmas in practice – examination of case scenarios
- The IRO toolkit
Who is the Training For?
Primarily the training is designed for recently appointed IROs, or those who are interested in becoming IROs. Others who work with children in care, and have an interest in the topic are also welcome.
Trainer: Jon Fayle, Vice Chair of NAIRO and a working IRO, other experienced IROs
